Ingredients

Serves 6

  • Churakka , peeled and chopped to small cubes 1 nos

  • ginger 1/2 inch

  • Garlic , finely chopped 3 nos

  • Red Onion , finely chopped 1 nos

  • Green chillies , seeded 2 nos

  • tomato 2 nos

  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

  • Chilli powder 1 tsp

  • Coriander powder 2 tsp

  • Udupi Ruchi Garam masala 1 tsp

  • Cilantro 2 tbsp

  • Salt 1 pinch

  • Oil 2-3 tsp

Directions

    Heat oil in a pressure cooker or a deep pan

  • 02

    Add the chopped ginger, garlic, green chillies, chopped red onion

  • 03

    and little salt

  • 04

    Saute until oil starts to separate

  • 05

    Then add the turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala

  • 06

    Saute for a few seconds and add the chopped tomatoes

  • 07

    Again saute for a few seconds and add the lauki cubes

  • 08

    Saute for a few seconds and add around 1/4 – 1/2 cup water

  • 09

    Adjust the salt

  • 10

    Cover the pressure cooker with its lid and cook for two whistles

  • 11

    When the pressure is released, open the pressure cooker and throw in the chopped cilantro

  • 12

    Mix well and check for salt

  • 13

    Serve hot with chapatis
