Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1/2 nos ripe pineapple/ kaithachakka


  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder


  • 3/4 tsp red chilly powder


  • 1 tsp sugar


  • 2 cups curd


  • 1 sprig curry leaves


  • 1 pinch salt to taste


  • 1 cups to grind:grated coconut


  • 3 nos green chilly


  • 1 nos garlic pods


  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds


  • 2-3 litre curry leaves


  • 1/2 tsp for seasoning :mustard seeds


  • 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds


  • 3 nos dry red chilly


  • 4-5 nos curry leaves


  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

Directions

  • Clean and cut the pineapple into 1/2 inch pieces
  • Cook the pineapple pieces along with a little water, turmeric powder, chilli powder and sugar until it turns to soft and tender
  • Grind grated coconut, green chillies, garlic, cumin seeds, curry leaves to a fine paste adding half of the yogurt
  • Add this paste to the cooked pineapples, add salt and mix well; allow it to boil on a low heat
  • Whip the remaining yogurt/curd and add to the curry and mix well, Bring to a boil and cook for a minute
  • Keep stirring till the gravy is heated through,(don’t allow yogurt to curdle)Remove from the heat and keep it aside
  • In a small frying pan, heat coconut oil and add the mustard seeds
  • When it start to splutter,add fenugreek seeds,curry leaves and red chilies
  • Pour this over the prepared pulissery/pineapple-yogurt gravy and mix well
  • Yummy pineapple pulissery is ready
  • Serve with rice and enjoy!
