Ingredients

Serves 20

  • raw rice 1 cups

  • urad dal 1 tbsp

  • Fenugreek seed 1/2 tsp

  • jaggery Grated 2 tbsp

  • banana 1 nos

  • cardamom Green 1 tsp

  • coconut Finely chopped 1 tbsp

  • butter Clarified 1/2 cups

Directions

    Soak rice with fenugreek seeds, urad dal for 2 hours

  • 02

    Make a batter adding jaggery powder ,banana to it

  • 03

    Use very little water as we need a thick batter

  • 04

    Leave it for 3-4 hours for fermentation at room temperature

  • 05

    Just before making appams, add chopped coconut to the batter

  • 06

    Now heat the paniyaram pan ,add 2 tsp ghee to each partition

  • 07

    Pour the batter in each partition & cook it on low flame

  • 08

    Cook for few minutes and then turn it with a stick to cook the other side

  • 09

    Remove it from the paniyaram pan once it turn golden brown

  • 10

    Follow the same step for the whole batter

  • 11

    Serve warm or cold
