Ingredients
Serves 4
Water 2-3 cups
Tamarind 1.5 tsp
Salt 2 tsp
Rasam powder 2 tsp
Turmeric 2 pinch
Rose petals 10-15 nos
Fresh curry leaf 2 sprig
Rasam powder preparation:Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
Coriander fruits 1/2 tbsp
Fenugreek seeds 1/2 tsp
Black pepper 15 nos
Red gram 1 tsp
For tempering: Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
Coriander fruits 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida 2 pinch
Fenugreek seeds 1/4 tsp
Crushed cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
Oil 2 tsp
Directions
Preparation of rasam powder - Roast all the above said ingredients one after the other and make into a fine powder
Rose Rasam preparation - Heat a saucepan over a medium flame. Pour 3 cups of water.
Add tamarind juice,salt, curry leaves and turmeric powder.Allow it to boil for 10 minutes.
Then add rasam powder to it. Cover it with a lid.
For seasoning - Fry all the tempering ingredients for a minute in oil.
Add this tempering yo the boiling rasam and turn off the flame.
Now add the fresh rose petals , place a lid and allow the flavours to meld.It will be simply zen.
Serve warm with hot steamed rice.
