Ingredients

  • Water 2-3 cups

  • Tamarind 1.5 tsp

  • Salt 2 tsp

  • Rasam powder 2 tsp

  • Turmeric 2 pinch

  • Rose petals 10-15 nos

  • Fresh curry leaf 2 sprig

  • Rasam powder preparation:Cumin seeds 1 tbsp

  • Coriander fruits 1/2 tbsp

  • Fenugreek seeds 1/2 tsp

  • Black pepper 15 nos

  • Red gram 1 tsp

  • For tempering: Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp

  • Coriander fruits 1/4 tsp

  • Asafoetida 2 pinch

  • Fenugreek seeds 1/4 tsp

  • Crushed cumin seeds 1/4 tsp

  • Oil 2 tsp

    Preparation of rasam powder - Roast all the above said ingredients one after the other and make into a fine powder

    Rose Rasam preparation - Heat a saucepan over a medium flame. Pour 3 cups of water.

    Add tamarind juice,salt, curry leaves and turmeric powder.Allow it to boil for 10 minutes.

    Then add rasam powder to it. Cover it with a lid.

    For seasoning - Fry all the tempering ingredients for a minute in oil.

    Add this tempering yo the boiling rasam and turn off the flame.

    Now add the fresh rose petals , place a lid and allow the flavours to meld.It will be simply zen.

    Serve warm with hot steamed rice.
