Ingredients

Serves 8

  • Eastern Instant Appam Podi Mix - 500 gms

  • Water - 1 cup

  • Coconut Shred - 1/2 cup

  • Small onion - 2 nos

  • Eastern Cumin Powder - 1 pinch

  • yeast - 1/2 tbsp

  • Oil or Butter-1 tbsp

Directions

    Making Batter-Mix Appam podi with Water

    Coconut Shread, Small onion and Cumin powder in Mixer and Mix with the appam podi and water

  • 03

    Add Salt and yeast to mix

  • 04

    Mix batter well and keep it for fragmentation overnight

  • 05

    Frying-Heat the non stick appa chatti on slow flame and once well heated pour Oil or butter just to glisten the surface

    Add sufficient batter before spreading it out

  • 07

    Place the lid and let the appam cook under its own steam

  • 08

    Once the appam is cooked, it is ready to be removed with a non-stick spatula

  • 09

    Add Sugar if you prefer
