Ingredients

Serves 4

  • thin rice flour

  • boiling water

  • salt to taste

  • grated fresh coconut

  • sugar

  • crushed cardamom

  • brown rice flour chemba rice

Directions

    Grate coconut mix with sugar and crushed cardamom

  • 02

    Keep it aside

  • 03

    In a mixing bowl take the flour sprinkle salt and add hot boiling water little by little

  • 04

    Mix with a wooden spatula and make a thick dough

  • 05

    When the dough cools down a bit make lemon sized medium balls

  • 06

    Take one ball at a time and place it in your palm

  • 07

    Press it with the other hand and make it thin

  • 08

    Start folding it inwards in such a way that you get a cup shape

  • 09

    Place 1 2 tsp of the filling cover it and roll it back into a ball

  • 10

    Repeat the process with the rest of the dough and filling

    kozhukatta fillingIn a steamer steam the kozhukattas for upto 10 minutes on medium flame

  • 12

    Keep it covered for 1 more minute
