  • 12 ounces strong coffee / espresso

  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 cups kahlua liqueur

  • 16 ounces marscapone cheese, room temperature

  • 1/2 tbsp powdered sugar

  • 1 litre heavy whipping cream, chilled

  • 500 gms lady finger cookies

  • 1/2 cups shaved dark chocolate for garnish


  • Mix espresso, Kahlua, and vanilla in a shallow dish. Let cool before adding to cheese.
  • whip the heavy cream in a standing mixer with a whisk attachment on high until cream reaches semi stiff peaks. Transfer whipped cream to another Bowl
  • in standing mixer Bowl beat marscapone cheese with powdered sugar until smooth
  • and 4 tablespoons of cool espresso mixture and mix well. Gently fold in the whipped cream into the cream
  • dip the rounded half of the lady finger in the coffee mixture and place in a single layer in a 9 by 13 by 4 glass pan
  • you can break ladyfingers in half to fill in the corners if needed
  • put half of the filling over the lady finger layer and spread evenly dip another later
  • dip another layer of ladyfingers and coffee in place over the cheese
  • use the rest of the feeling to create a top layer and smooth out
  • cover the top layer with one sheet of paper towels to collect condensation and cover with Saran Wrap
  • refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight
  • to serve remove the paper towels and garnish with the shaved chocolate
