Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • 1 cups soya chunks


  • 3 tsp oil


  • 1/2 tsp cumin


  • 5-6 nos curry leaves


  • 1/2 cups onion sliced


  • 1 tsp red chilli powder


  • 2 tsp coriander powder


  • 1 tsp garam masala powder


  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste


  • 2 tbsp fresh cream


  • 2 nos onion


  • 2 nos tomato


  • 3-4 nos cashew


  • 2 tbsp shredded coconut


  • 1/2 tsp pepper


  • 1 tsp saunf


  • 1/2 tsp cumin

Directions

  • Wash and soak the soya in hot water for 20 mins.
  • Squeeze out the water, rinse with cold water for two times.
  • Drain out the water completely by squeezing the chunks and keep aside.
  • heat oil in a pan
  • add sliced onion
  • Saute for a minute.
  • Add tomato slices and fry till it is soft & cooked.
  • Add grated coconut, pepper, cumin, saunf, cashew and mix well.
  • Allow to cool.
  • Add it to blender and grind it to fine paste.
  • keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
  • Add curry leaves and cumin seeds.
  • Wait till crackle
  • Add onion slices, ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute. Add fresh masala paste ( step 11) and combine
  • Add turmeric pwd, red chilly pwd, salt, garam masala pwd & coriander pwd
  • Mix well.
  • Now add soya chunks and combine.
  • Once the soya chunks got completely coated with the spices, add 1 cup of water.
  • Stir well and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
  • When it is cooked, add fresh cream.
  • Taste – check for salt.
  • Finally add the freshly chopped coriander leaves and mix.
  • Soya chunks curry is ready for serving.
