Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cups fresh fenugreek/methi leaves


  • 1 cups masoor dal


  • 1 tsp oil


  • 1/4 tsp mustard


  • 1/2 tsp split urad dal


  • 1/2 tsp cumin


  • 1 nos red chilli


  • 1 nos green chilli


  • 1/2 cups onion sliced


  • 1 tbsp grated garlic


  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder

Directions

  • Wash and chop methi leaves to fine slices
  • Wash and soak toor dal for 20 minutes
  • Pressure cook till it is soft
  • Mash and keep it ready.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add the seasonings, mustard, cumin, split urad dal, hing, red chilly and wait to splutter.
  • Add chopped green chilly and onion slices.
  • Saute for a minute.
  • Add grated garlic and stir well.
  • Now add finely sliced methi leaves.
  • Add salt, turmeric pwd and red chilly pwd.
  • Combine well.
  • Give it a good boil for another few mins.
  • Turn off flame.
  • Your mouthwatering Methi dal is ready..:)
  • Methi dal pairs up excellent with rotis, parathas or even with steaming hot white rice..!
