Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Fresh fenugreek/methi leaves 1 cups

  • Masoor dal 1 cups

  • Oil 1 tsp

  • Mustard 1/4 tsp

  • Split urad dal 1/2 tsp

  • Cumin 1/2 tsp

  • Red chilli 1 nos

  • green chilli 1 nos

  • Onion sliced 1/2 cups

  • Grated garlic 1 tbsp

  • Red chili powder 1/2 tsp

Directions

    Wash and chop methi leaves to fine slices

    Wash and soak toor dal for 20 minutes

  • 03

    Pressure cook till it is soft

  • 04

    Mash and keep it ready.

    Heat oil in a pan.

  • 06

    Add the seasonings, mustard, cumin, split urad dal, hing, red chilly and wait to splutter.

    Add chopped green chilly and onion slices.

  • 08

    Saute for a minute.

    Add grated garlic and stir well.

    Now add finely sliced methi leaves.

    Add salt, turmeric pwd and red chilly pwd.

    Combine well.

    Give it a good boil for another few mins.

    Turn off flame.

    Your mouthwatering Methi dal is ready..:)

    Methi dal pairs up excellent with rotis, parathas or even with steaming hot white rice..!
