2 1/4 cups apples
1/2 cups water
1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1/2 cups nutmeg
Directions
Peel and slice apples, place in slow cooker
Combine water, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg and sprinkle over apples
Cook on low for 8-10 hours, stirring occasionally. To get really smooth and creamy apple butter, process with immersion blender until thoroughly mixed
Spoon into clean mason jars with lid ajar, allow to cool completely and thicken up. Place in fridge for up to 2 weeks or freeze for 6 months
