Ingredients

Serves : 10
  • Red lentils-1/4 kg


  • 2 medium sized onions


  • 4 green chillies


  • 1 brinjal diced


  • 1 radish diced


  • 1 cup of diced bottle guard


  • 2 Drumsticks cut into pieces


  • 6 ladyfingers cut into pieces


  • 2 tomatoes diced


  • Tamarind juice- 1 cup


  • Red chilli powder-3tbsp


  • Salt-2tbsp


  • Asafoetida-2 pinches


  • Sambar masala- 2 tbsp


  • Sunflower Oil- 1tbsp


  • Red chilli- 3


  • Cumin seeds- 1tbsp


  • Garlic cloves-4


  • Curry leaves -10

Directions

  • First of all boil the red lentils in a pressure cooker to make a soft thick paste
  • Boil all the vegetables in a vessel by adding some salt and water
  • Add tamarind juice to the lentil paste and let boil for 5 minutes and then add the boiled veggies
  • Now add red chilli powder and salt and let it boil well
  • At last add some sambar powder and asafoetida
  • To give a spicy touch take a pan and preheat oil and add garlic,cumin seeds,red chillies, curry leaves.saute well and transfer this into the sambar made earlier and cover with lid
