First of all boil the red lentils in a pressure cooker to make a soft thick paste
Boil all the vegetables in a vessel by adding some salt and water
Add tamarind juice to the lentil paste and let boil for 5 minutes and then add the boiled veggies
Now add red chilli powder and salt and let it boil well
At last add some sambar powder and asafoetida
To give a spicy touch take a pan and preheat oil and add garlic,cumin seeds,red chillies, curry leaves.saute well and transfer this into the sambar made earlier and cover with lid
