Description
This is my husbands favorite breakfast cereal. Also good eaten out of hand. This is one that my mom was famous for. I usually use pecans or walnuts but almonds would also be good. Use a combination of whatever nuts you like.

Ingredients
Serves 20
10cups rolled oats
1cup wheat germ
1⁄2 lb flaked coconut
2cups sunflower seeds
1cup sesame seeds
3cups nuts, chopped
1 1⁄2 cups brown sugar
1 1⁄2 cups water
1 1⁄2 cups vegetable oil
1⁄2 cup honey
1⁄2 cup molasses
1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
2teaspoons ground cinnamon
3teaspoons vanilla extract
raisins (optional) orother dried fruit (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 300* F (150* C).
In a large bowl combine oats, coconut, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and nuts.
Blend well.
In a large saucepan, combine brown sugar, water, oil, honey, salt, cinnamon and vanilla.
Heat until sugar is dissolved, but do not boil.
Pour syrup over dry ingredients and stir until well-coated.
In several batches, spread onto baking sheets (with rim) in a thin layer.
Bake 60 minutes, stirring every 15 until dry.
Cool.
Add raisins or other dried fruit, if desired.
Store in airtight containers in a cool dry place for up to 6 months.
