Sieve besan for 2 to 3 times ,pour this to a bowl
To this add water ,salt and colour(opt) to make a batter
The consistency should be bit loose than dosa batter ..Test the consistency by pouring very small amount of batter through a ladle (the ladle with small holes all over it ,which is called as **perforated** spoon) .I will show u a video link by Vahchef to know the technique of making boondi
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncbiJUr_0zg]
I did the exact same way as Vahchef described
Roast raisins in 1 tbsp ghee and keep aside
So after making boondi ,lets make a sugar syrup
In to a pan add 1 cup of sugar,cardamom powder and 1/2 cup water ,Mix well
Boil well till half thread consistency ..(Test the sugar syrup consistency between ur thumb and forefinger. When tested between thumb and forefingers a string must be formed ,but it will cut immediately,that is half thread consistency .) Remove from the flame and keep aside
Once the boondis are done as described in the video ,add these to the hot sugar syrup
Once everything is added to the sugar syrup mix well ..If u feel like ur boondis are not soaked well ,I mean u dont have enough sugar syrup,then dont worry ,u can make some more syrup and add and mix well
Now dip ur fingers in water or grease with ghee ,and take very less amount of boondi and press it form round shaped balls ..Continue the process
U can add cooking camphor ,but i didn't used it in my recipe
So after cooling keep the yummy ladoos in airtight container ..but I dont think it will last so long if ur kids are around :)
